Location: The school occupies a spacious Mediterranean-style building within the university area. The school is located in one of the best areas of the city, in front of the renowned University and 10 minutes away from the city centre and the beach. In terms of public transportation the school is situated in a well-connected area with easy access via bus and underground.

 

School Size: 24 Spacious classrooms

 

Class Size: The maximum number of students per class is 9, however the average class size tends to be about 5 students.

Holidays: In Spain there are 10 public national holidays. In addition, there are holidays specific to the city. Though these holidays are mentioned, please double check with us to make sure as they are currently tentative.

Spain’s national holidays: January 1, 6, March 24, 25, May 2, July 25, August 15, October 12, November 1, December 6, 8, 25 of 2005.

City specific holidays: June 12, April 23, September 8 of 2005.

 

Duration: Classes run in weekly increments starting on a Monday and ending on a Friday. The minimum course duration is one week. Students may choose the number of lessons they take per week as well as opt to take group classes, private lessons or a combination of both.

 

Content: Methodology is based on acquiring the linguistic and pragmatic functional aspects of the spoken language along with an understanding of the socio-cultural elements of the Spanish way of life. In all our courses we study the basic language skills individually: reading, writing, speaking and listening…then we work to integrate them. In addition to these skills we also emphasize grammatical structure to help the student reach an optimum threshold of communicative proficiency. Additionally, to broaden the student's general perspective, we offer the possibility of studying distinct facets of Spanish culture including history, art, civilization, literature, cinema, and more. We feel that immersion language learning is a dynamic process which takes advantage of the fact that the students are living within the Spanish culture.

 

Books: The student will be provided with their first book. Additional books for each new level are available through the school for 15 Euros. Workbooks can be purchased from the school for 11 Euros.

School’s Features: The school is a modern and completely renovated building with lots of natural light, that offers comfort and top-quality services for the students. It is one of the most modern schools in Spain, with the latest innovations and facilities. The building includes a teacher’s meeting room, a small cafeteria, large garden in front of the school, computer room with free Internet access, library and video room, spacious common areas, air conditioning and central heating.

 

College Credit: Contact an advisor at your university to determine whether or not academic credit is available. Please contact us if your school requires a syllabus of the programs at least 4 weeks prior to when your syllabus is due to be turned in.

 

Excursions/Activities: The school offers afternoon guided tours to places such as the cities Historic Centre, the Gothic rout, the Baroque rout, IVAM museum, Patriarca museum, the City of Arts and Science, the Music Palace, and the Oceonographic. Day and weekend trips may also be taken to places such as Teatro Romano in Sagunto, Monasterio de Puig, Castillo de Sagunto, Alicante, Ibiza, Madrid, Barcelona, Tarragona and more!
