Liden & Denz is an official preparation centre for the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language TRKI. The exam measures students' linguistic ability for university studies in Russian, either in Russia or their home country. The TRKI is recognized by the Russian Federal Ministry of Education and must be taken in one of the appointed regional exam-centres.

The centers provide incoming students who intend to enter a Russian university with specialized courses, usually a combination of one-to-one and group course.

Currently the Russian testing system for speakers of Russian as a Foreign language consists of beginner and elementary levels as well as four levels of competency in Russian as a Foreign Language and corresponding tests. The most common are:

Beginner Level TEU: certifies a minimum level of communicative competence. To achieve this level, a beginner at Liden & Denz requires about 140 lessons or 7 weeks with 20 lessons per week Standard Group Course.

Elementary Level TBU: certifies that the applicant has acquired basic communicative skills in a number of daily situations. It takes 10 weeks with 20 lessons per week to pass from the Beginner Level to the Elementary Level.

TRKI-1: certifies that the applicant has reached Intermediate Level of communicative skills on a variety of social, cultural and professional topics. TRKI-1 allows enrolling in a Russian University. To pass from Elementary Level to TRKI-1 level, a student needs 180 lessons or 9 weeks of Standard Group Course. About 2 weeks of studies (40 individual lessons) may be required in addition to prepare for the particular TRKI-1 examination tasks.

TRKI-2: certifies a relatively high level (upper Intermediate) of communicative competency in all communicative contexts. The certificate involved is required for obtaining Bachelor's and Master's degrees on graduation from Russian higher educational institutions. It takes 400 lessons to pass from TRKI-1 to TRKI-2. About 2 weeks of individual studies (40 lessons) may be required in addition to prepare for the particular TRKI-2 examination tasks.

How to proceed?

Additional individual lessons, which are necessary for the popular TRKI-1 exam, can be booked at any time during a course. The rate for each lesson is 25. As the TRKI exams can be taken at any moment, the exact course schedule and content will be decided together with the student after a special assessment has been made after arrival.
