Location: Our School is located on the main road, just 5 minutes walking to the best Marbella beaches and in an area well communicated by buses. The school is located on the central terrace of the "Edificio Granada" on top of the well known fashion and design ZARA department store. It is a modern, spacious building, close to the most important places in Marbella. 

 

School Size: Located in a large three-story building. There are 17 classrooms (14 inside and 3 outside) with natural light from the terrace.

 

Class Size: The maximum number of students per class is 9, however the average class size tends to be about 5 students.

Holidays: In Spain there are 10 public national holidays. In addition, there are holidays specific to the city. Though these holidays are mentioned, please double check with us to make sure as they are currently tentative.

Spain’s national holidays: January 1, 6, March 24, 25, May 2, July 25, August 15, October 12, November 1, December 6, 8, 25 of 2005.

City specific holidays: February 28, June 11, October 19 of 2005.

 

Duration: Classes run in weekly increments starting on a Monday and ending on a Friday. The minimum course duration is one week. Students may choose the number of lessons they take per week as well as opt to take group classes, private lessons or a combination of both.

 

Content: Methodology is based on acquiring the linguistic and pragmatic functional aspects of the spoken language along with an understanding of the socio-cultural elements of the Spanish way of life. In all our courses we study the basic language skills individually: reading, writing, speaking and listening…then we work to integrate them. In addition to these skills we also emphasize grammatical structure to help the student reach an optimum threshold of communicative proficiency. Additionally, to broaden the student's general perspective, we offer the possibility of studying distinct facets of Spanish culture including history, art, civilization, literature, cinema, and more. We feel that immersion language learning is a dynamic process which takes advantage of the fact that the students are living within the Spanish culture.

Books: The student will be provided with their first book. Additional books for each new level are available through the school for 15 Euros. Workbooks can be purchased from the school for 11 Euros.

College Credit: Contact an advisor at your university to determine whether or not academic credit is available. Please contact us if your school requires a syllabus of the programs at least 4 weeks prior to when your syllabus is due to be turned in.

 

Excursions/Activities: In the afternoons, students may participate in guided cultural visits to museums, historical buildings, etc. or take trips to many beaches and tour the sights of Marbella.  Day trips and weekend trips may also be organized to places such as Granada, Cadiz, Antequera, Gibralter, Tarifa, Sevilla, Cordoba, or Malaga.

-          Spanish for business and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce or “Exige” Exam (Designed for students at least at the intermediate level to study various specialized topics related to business)

-          Spanish + Golf or Tennis (Learn Spanish in the morning and then take lessons at one of the best golf and tennis schools in the afternoon)

-          The Golden Age Program (Designed for people, fifty years or older, who want to study Spanish while at the same time learn more about Spain’s Art and culture)   

-          Customized programs for groups of 8 or more (our schools will coordinate with your home-country teacher to create custom-fitted courses)

-          High School program (semester or academic year for High School students, ages 13 or older)
