Students attending the German Language School in Berlin have the option to stay in either a Host family, a hotel, or a pension. Language Skills Abroad will be happy to help you choose and reserve an accommodation.

Host Family:

Staying with a host family is usually the recommended option due to the fact that the living dynamic is more conducive to learning significantly more of the language and culture. Host families can include either breakfast and dinner, or just breakfast.

The host families tend to be approximately 30 minutes away by bike or public transportation. Some homes can be as distant as 50 minutes.
Accommodations begin on Sunday and end on Saturday. Each student has a private room but will most likely share a bathroom with someone else in the home.

Hotel:

There is a hotel just 5 minutes from the school called "Berlincity". Students have the option to have a private room with a private bathroom, or a private room but share a common bathroom with other students on the same floor. Those who opt to take the room which shares a bathroom, will typically share the bathroom with about 5-10 other people. Please contact us for prices.

The Hotel Schoeneberg is a 10 minute walk from the school. It offers a private room, bathroom, phone, and TV. This hotel also serves breakfast. Please contact us for prices.

Pension:

Students can opt to stay in a pension. Some suggestions for pensions are included below:

Pension Delta: 10 minute walk to GLS. There are many little cafes and bars nearby this pension.

Pension Gunia: This pension is a 20 minute walk to GLS. It is in a very nice area where the movie "Cabaret" was filmed.
