Although Milan is best known for its fast-paced cosmopolitan atmosphere,
there are a few features of the city that remind visitors that they are in an historic Italian city. Milan is home to the
largest Gothic Cathedral in the world-the Duomo. The interior of the cathedral is said to be a dazzling sight when lit by
sunlight flowing through its many stained glass windows. Another historic building in Milan is the Theatro alla Scala,
a world famous opera house, which has entertained opera goers for generations. Furthermore, world-renowned works by artists
such as da Vinci, Michelangelo, Picasso, Matisse and Renoir can be viewed in various museums throughout Milan. Three of the
city's museums even reside inside the 15th century Sforzesco castle. For those interested in an exciting city filled with
interesting people and a lot to do, study Italian in Milan!
