Location: Our Spanish language school in Barcelona is located in an affluent section of town and right in the middle of Barcelona! It is only a five/ten-minute walk to the famous Ensanche, Plaza de Cataluña and Plaza de España. It is very close to the renowned University and popular areas such as the Gran Vía and Las Ramblas.

 

School Size: The Spanish language school in Barcelona has 54 classrooms (all of them equipped with audio-visual equipment and air Conditioned).

 

Class Size: The maximum number of students per class is 9, however the average class size tends to be about 5 students.

 

Start Dates: Classes begin on any Monday unless it falls on a holiday.

Holidays: In Spain there are 10 public national holidays. In addition, there are holidays specific to the city. Please make sure to contact us regarding holidays as classes that fall on holidays will not take place and are not made up.

Duration: Classes run in weekly increments starting on a Monday and ending on a Friday. The minimum course duration is one week. Students may choose the number of lessons they take per week as well as opt to take group classes, private lessons or a combination of both.

 

Content: Methodology is based on acquiring the linguistic and pragmatic functional aspects of the spoken language along with an understanding of the socio-cultural elements of the Spanish way of life. In all our courses we study the basic language skills individually: reading, writing, speaking and listening…then we work to integrate them. In addition to these skills we also emphasize grammatical structure to help the student reach an optimum threshold of communicative proficiency. Additionally, to broaden the student's general perspective, we offer the possibility of studying distinct facets of Spanish culture including history, art, civilization, literature, cinema, and more. We feel that immersion language learning is a dynamic process which takes advantage of the fact that the students are living within the Spanish culture.

 

Books: The student will be provided with their first book. Additional books for each new level are available through the school for 15 Euros. Workbooks can be purchased from the school for 11 Euros.

School Features: The Spanish language school in Barcelona offers 54 spacious classrooms, full of light and with air conditioning, a teacher's meeting room, 1,500 square meters of gorgeous terraces divided into 3 terraces, a great covered and outdoor cafeteria, with adjacent terrace, small gym, solarium terrace for summer, computer room with more than 25 computers and free Internet access, a spacious and modern library, fully-stocked, video room· conference room with capacity for 160 people, lift wheelchair accessible, air conditioning and central heating.

 

 

College Credit: Contact an advisor at your university to determine whether or not academic credit will be issued for attending the Spanish language school in Barcelona.  Please contact us if your school requires a syllabus of the programs at least 4 weeks prior to when your syllabus is due to be turned in.

 

Excursions/Activities: The Spanish language school in Barcelona  offers interesting afternoon cultural guided visits to museums, historical buildings, etc. Students may visit the Picasso Museum, “El Barrio Gotico,” the Modern Museum of Art, Montjuic Castle, take a city tour and see many other sites as well.  Full day and weekend trips may also be taken to nearby sites such as Montserrat Mountain, Nuria (accent “u”) Valley, the Dali (accent “i”) Museum of Figueras and more.
