Location: The Chinese language school in
Beijing in the Meiliyuan garden (Beauty garden), very close to
the host family homes.
School Size: The campus consists of 7 classrooms with a maximum
capacity of 62 students.
Class Size: 10-12 students
Timing: The busy season is fall and summer. Please make
sure to register early if you intend to participate in a program during either of these seasons.
Start Dates:
Students can begin on any Monday of the year, unless they are a complete beginner. Beginner start dates are as follows:
Jan 9, Feb 6, Mar 6, Apr 3, May 8, Jun 5, Jul 3, Jul 31, Aug 28, Sep 25, Oct 30, Nov 27 in 2006.
Holidays: School is closed on Jan 2, Jan 29-Feb 5,
May 1-7, Oct 2-4 in 2006.
Duration: Classes run in weekly increments with a minimum
of 2 weeks. Lessons are provided from Monday through Friday with 4 group lessons per day. Each lesson is 50 minutes.
Content: Classes
include tapes, role play, outdoor activities, workshops, phonetics,
drills and always embrace Chinese culture together with modern day China. Teaching material is included in the tuition price.
Books: Books
and materials used at Chinese language school include “China
Panorama/ Language and culture press” which are Chinese textbooks prepared
by a group of TCFL experts under the Ministry of Education of P.R. China; “ Chinese phonetics”, “Approaching
Chinese”, “Intermediate Chinese”, “Chinese for Business”, “Chinese for Tourism”
which includes audio, video tapes, and CD-ROM.
Homework: Homework is occasionally assigned and takes about
20 minutes to complete.

School’s Features: Through the Chinese Language School's partnership with the Beijing Capital Normal
University the school offers free internet access, a small cafeteria, brand new classrooms and furniture, as well as a language
lab with brand new computers. There are restaurants on campus. The campus also offers tremendous facilities for sports
and cultural activities. This is also the place where most of our cultural activities take place

Excursions/Activities: Excursions include a visit to the Lama Temple, the former residence of Song Qingling, China Gallery, Dashanzi
Art village, Panjiayuan flea market, a visit to the Hutong which consist of old houses and alleys, and a visit to Houhai bar
street. Activities include Calligraphy, Tai Chi, Chinese movie night, Tea tasting, Chinese painting, paper cutting, Chinese
cooking, and Chinese medicine. Calligraphy Accommodations: Students have the option to stay in a private room or a shared room with
a host family, which includes breakfast each day as well as dinner on the weekends. Another option is to stay at the on campus
residence. A residence is a dorm-like setting whose bedrooms are equipped with a telephone, computer (free internet access), TV, air-conditioning.
Beds are twin sized. Students can opt to have a private or shared room.
